2019 TOYOTA AFL
PREMIERSHIP LIVE
from Friday May 3 at 7pm
on FOX FOOTY [504]
Pencil in Saturday May 11 as one of
the biggest, most unmissable grudge
match days in the 2019 Toyota AFL
Premiership. FOX FOOTY features
a double-header of the biggest
rivalries in the game, commencing
with Carlton hosting Collingwood
at the MCG at 1pm.
These two Victorian giants have
a rich history of duels dating back to
- In 256 meetings, Carlton has
prevailed on 127 occasions, compared
to Collingwood on 125, with four draws.
A full house is guaranteed as the clubs
face-off for the Richard Pratt Cup –
expect plenty of passion to spill from
the field into the stands.
Emotions will be equally high when
Adelaide and Port Adelaide clash in the
46th Showdown in the South Australian
capital. There is no love lost between
the cross-town rivals and their meetings
are always tough and uncompromising,
hence the Showdown moniker. In their
45 clashes in the AFL, Adelaide is one
up on Port Adelaide with 23 wins, so
expect this derby match-up at Adelaide
Oval to be another even hit-out.
The focus may be on this pair of
long-standing rivalries, but throughout
the month, FOX FOOTY – and, in some
cases, FOX SPORTS – delivers a further
35 live games, starting with Collingwood
(featuring the Pies’ 2018 top goal-
kicker Jordan De Goey, pictured) playing
host to Port Adelaide on May 3.
