HITTING THE LIMIT

Where Apple, and others, may struggle in the
years that follow is in subscription prices and
limits. Five years ago, users were cutting cords
to avoid expensive cable charges, but now if
you want to enjoy the latest content, you’ll
need a subscription to Apple, Netflix, Amazon,
Hulu, Disney, and more; each of which with its
own bill, which can increase at short notice.
In short, consumers can easily rack up a bill of
$100 per month or more with every streaming
service, and with more entering the fold, it’ll
soon be simply too expensive for the Average
Joe to keep up.

Long-term, there’s the threat that some services
simply won’t survive. If users only have $50
per month to spend on entertainment, they’ll
prioritize popular services like Disney+ and
Netflix over Apple and HBO, because they know
they’ll be getting access to quality content from
IPs and franchises they’ve grown accustomed to.
