Fashion designer (and BH&G Stylemaker)
Chris Benz’s first-ever wallpaper line brings
a world of inspiration—including the streets of
New York and African textiles—to your walls.

1

As the creative director
who modernized
the Bill Blass fashion
line, Chris Benz has
never shied away from
going bold. That
same fearlessness
informs the wallpapers
he created in
collaboration with
Wallshøppe. Each
design features graphic
overscale patterns,
strong colors, or
both, that come in
traditional wallpaper or
removable peel-
and-stick panels. His
advice for adding bold
pattern to your walls:
CONSIDER SIZE
In rooms with less
wall space, there
are fewer repeats of
a pattern, which
essentially concentrates
the impact. For large
rooms, patterns
with the illusion of
texture give walls a
sense of depth
and dimension.
GO FOR
CONTRAST
“Modern wallpapers
liven up older
interiors without
adding new
furniture or
making any big
remodeling
decisions,” Benz
says. They also
energize clean-lined
contemporary spaces.
CREATE AN
ACCENT WALL
Jazz up a room
without overwhelming
it. Paper only the
wall you see fi rst when
you enter the room
and paint the other
walls a neutral color. ■

Peel-and-
stick panels
make it
easy to
experiment
with bold
patterns.
