The original earthy hues, clay colors ranging from sandy pink to ruddy
rust cast a comforting glow. Think of them as beige gone cozier.

match intensities
Walls painted this brick red are a bold proposition,
so the instinct might be to go light with everything else.
But pairing the wall color with an equally saturated,
slightly warmer burnt orange (in the sofa and ottoman)
unifi es the space while layering on richness. Dark
accent pieces temper some of the intensity by blending
in; pale fl ooring and extra-tall white baseboards
create a little visual breathing room.

create balance
To keep pink walls from going saccharine,
designers Estee Stanley and Mat Sanders relied
on dark blues. “ The contrast helps neutralize
the pinks and ground the space,” Stanley says.
Chunky wood furniture adds a warmer,
weightier variation of pink.

THINK IN PINK “When you consider traditional building materials, like adobe and brick, the pink color family
has been a staple in the home longer than many of our favorite neutrals,” says color specialist Nivara Xaykao.
