EVERGREEN BOROUGHMUIR hockey player Janet Hall has been
chosen to represent Scotland in the World Masters Hockey European
Championships this summer.
After running out for Scotland 45s age group in the GB&I Four
Nations Masters tournament in Swansea earlier this month Janet will
travel to Nottingham and the Euros, one of a handful of men and
women from across the Capital picked by Scotland for a tournament
starting on July 29.
Head of Delivery for law firm Ashurst LLP, Janet, 46, says:
“It’s an honour and a privilege to be part of the Scottish Masters
Hockey set-up. It is great to feel part of a team and to be challenged
to improve my game/skills even though I have been playing for years."

EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY is to remain
Scottish Rowing’s High Performance
Partner for the next six years after the
extension of a current agreement.
Scottish rowers made up a fifth of
Team GB at Tokyo 2020 Olympics
including three who came through the
University of Edinburgh programme and
in the last decade Edinburgh students
and alumni have achieved over 50 GB

vests across the European, World and
Olympic stage.

SCHOOLCHILDREN from across
Edinburgh, all P4, have taken part
in a pilot ‘Tag Team’ tournament
at Meadowbank Stadium
developed in partnership
between Tennis Scotland and the
City of Edinburgh Council.
The format consisted of two
boys and two girls in a team, with
players competing in singles
match-play against other schools.
Players played two points

before ‘tagging in’ a team-mate
who swapped in and played the
next two points. The rotation was
repeated through all team players
until the match time was up.
The intention going forward is
to integrate the event into the
Edinburgh Primary Schools
Sports Association (EPSSA)
programme, to allow the scheme
to be offered to all schools in
the city.

AS WELL AS BEING one of East Scotland’s biggest clubs running five teams

charity game against medics from Lothian NHS.
A club spokesman said: “We have been doing this for the last 7-8 years
as a thanks for their hard work throughout the year especially during the
peak of pandemic.”
The spokesman added: “It was a fun-filled evening with food and drink provided
at cost by our social event sponsors Spice Lounge Kitchen and covered by the club.“
The second instalment again backed by club sponsor CARS4YOU and the Spice
Lounge will take place in August.
