“I love the old days, and the way
rural people lived,” he relates. “A trip
to town on a horse and cart, in the
fresh open air ... beautiful scenery ...
just looking at this great country of
ours. Who wouldn’t want to paint it?”
“I like the peacefulness of our
bushland; the smell of fresh air;
the warm people and their friendly
smiles. I think the land has a hold on
me. And I think I’m here as one of
God’s artists. I love creating pictures
of the bushland of my dreams.”
Laurence Moore feels that the
world is moving too fast – so he likes
to remind us all of the past through
his art.
“I like my paintings to talk for
me, too,” he says. “I feel that I
have a good eye for colour; and
distance plays a big part in my art.
I particularly like to work with
murals.”
Much of Mr Moore’s work sells
readily to appreciative purchasers
near where he lives. n
