Summary

The introduction of the third dimension takes CSS into areas that are rich
with potential—many demos are available that show clever uses of 3D trans-
formations to build objects or environments. But, for me, the best use of
the extra dimension is in smaller, subtle details; adding depth to rollover
effects or making two-sided “cards” that flip to reveal information on the
reverse.
As with everything, CSS 3D transformations are best used appropriately,
so they add to the user experience of your websites rather than detract from
it with unnecessary tricks.
