After an announcement last year that Apple
would plough $2.5 billion into the Californian
housing market broken by exclusively-high
prices, the Housing Trust Silicon Valley has confirmed
that it is launching the new Apple Affordable Housing
Fund thanks to a $150 million grant from Apple.
“Before the world knew the name Silicon Valley, and
long before we carried technology in our pockets,
Apple called this region home, and we feel a profound
civic responsibility to ensure it remains a vibrant place
where people can live, have a family and contribute to
the community,” says Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

Apple is making a stand
against bogus apps in
its App Store by
banning any coronavirus apps
that aren’t built by recognised
health organisations like hospitals
or governments. Multiple app
developers have been in touch
with American media giant CNBC
to confirm that they’ve had apps
rejected by Apple. Although
these apps were simple programs
focused around viewing where the
virus had spread to, and based on
official statistics from the World
Health Organisation, Apple is
clearly stamping down on ‘fake
news’ in an effort to halt the spread
of misinformation. Google has
also followed suit by filtering out
unofficial health apps from its
Play Store.
