If your family all use Apple products then Family Sharing utilises iCloud to great effect to help you manage your household’s
activities and save money. Go to System Preferences>Family Sharing to set it up.Utilise Family Sharing

Get sharing
Make sure each family member goes to
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>Share
My Location and turns it on. The Family
Sharing organiser doesn’t necessarily have
to share their location.2
Open Messages
On Mac or iOS, open the Messages
app, select a message thread from the
family member and then on Mac click
‘Details’ in the top-right, or on iOS, tap the
person’s name followed by ‘Info’.3
See location
The resulting details/info box will include
a map upon which the location of the family
member will be pinpointed. This updates in
real time so that you’ll be able to track their
movements every step of the way.Storage sharing
If you have bigger than standard
iCloud storage plan then any
space that you aren’t using
can be shared with your family
members. With Family Sharing
set up, go to ‘iCloud Storage’
and click on the ‘Share’ button.Control activities
Through Family Sharing you can view
and manage how long your children
are spending on their devices. In the
Screen Time System Preferences, click
on the menu in the top-left, choose a
family member and then you can set
Downtime and limit app usage.Share media
Family members can also benefit from your
subscriptions. If you subscribe to Apple Arcade then
they have access to all of the games too, likewise
your Apple TV channels. For music you will need to
upgrade to a family subscription.Master account

members and then all purchases
(apps, media, books) throughout
the household are taken from the
organiser’s payment method for

Once you have gone through the
initial setup process, which you will
be guided through, you can add
extra family members by clicking
the ‘+’ icon in the Family section and
entering their name, email address
