Press and hold on the Google Earth app icon from the Home screen of your
iPad and you can go straight to its Voyager section.

Begin exploration
When the Voyager story appears, tap
‘Explore’ and you can look through the tour’s
images, read the explanations and view them
on a map. Just tap the right arrow to move on.

Search for stories
You should also tap the ‘Search’ button
from the left menu and type “space”. This will
help locate specific Voyager stories such as a
visit to the International Space Station.

Look around
Use the onscreen options to enjoy the
story. Some tours are split into many chapters
which you can scroll through using your finger,
tapping to select any of interest.

See animated clouds
If you want to lend the globe a little extra realism when
you’ve zoomed out to take a look at the night sky, then
go to the Menu, select ‘Map Style’ and turn on animated
clouds. This shows the last 24 hours of cloud coverage
across the planet in a looping animation They will
disappear when you start to zoom back in.

Rotate the globe
To see more of the night sky,
just use your finger to rotate
the Earth left, right and up
and down, rolling it about in
mid-space. As you do, more
stars will come into view.

View in a browser
If you like what you see, you
can freeze it in time by taking
a photo that can be saved to
iCloud Drive. You can also
share the URL, create a print
or make a copy.

Zoom away
Place two fingers on the
screen and bring them closer
together to zoom away from
Earth. You can now view the
stars within the Milky Way,
collected from the European
Southern Observatory.

Orientate
the world
Want the Earth to be pointing
North? Then orientate the
globe with a simple tap of
the compass.
