Empathy for your younger self projected onto a
conceptual future young person. See! Activism
harnesses the imagination!
Let’s go down this rabbit hole
I like to see what people care about, and if it
extends beyond their own narrow interests,
and, in a way, I think this all comes together
and can be seen in the work. I don‘t like to read
criticism by people who have no perspective on
the world.
I straight up don‘t read people with nothing to say
There is a mania for hyperbole at this
present moment in our culture
But that doesn‘t conceal emptiness within
That is the work, or should be
To bring it back to PYW, reason 1 of
189348958 that I love it is that it very
hyperbolic visually but it has so much inside
of it, molten fury in its hot-pink veins
SAME
I would love if the industry evolved to
conscientious point whereby the activism was
the criticism, and there was no need to channel
in your energy down a parallel highway
Like a Fabergé egg full of lava
And pelt them at unsuspecting ne’er-do-wells
Oh yes
YESSSSSS
THIS IS SO TRUE
And it’s something that actively
worries me when I write! What am I
trying to say with every piece!
Like even beyond activism, there’s just...
good journalism/criticism
Yes m8
Perhaps your TEDTalk could be a
performance art piece. You come on stage
holding armfuls of Fabergé eggs full of lava.
This is how we win
Last night I was hanging out with my
new actor friend Alejo
You would like him. He has gr8
taste in movies
<3
Sent me the Safdies’ short feat. Sandler
I was expressing to Alejo the whole dilemma
over not wanting to be defined by negative
experiences at the hands of, often, men, hence
you hold them in stubbornly
He said that when you hold them in
it defines you internally
And then we agreed that there is liberating
creative power in taking ownership of events
by telling of them
That’s what I would love to find
Anyways
