Shelton and Stefani are clearly head
over heels, and the country star, who
was previous married to Miranda
Lambert, is growing restless to
walk down the aisle. For the past
year, Stefani, a devout Catholic, has
been trying to have her marriage to
ex-husband Rossdale annulled so
she can marry Shelton in a church.
Says the source, “The annulment re-
mains under review by the tribunal
court at the Vatican,” which means
there’s potentially no end in sight.
For that reason, “Blake won’t be
proposing” anytime soon, says the
source, who adds, “If there hasn’t
been any decision by the Vatican
by the end of the year, Gwen’s told
friends she’ll marry Blake.”
Until then, the home renovation
is the perfect distraction. “Gwen’s
house with Gavin was extremely
modern, with f lashes of big, bold
colors. It was very loud and in-your-
face, which was what Gavin wanted.
Blake, on the other hand, is all
about comfort — big sofas, furniture
that doesn’t look like art.” The new
home will be a blend of Stefani and
Shelton — and represent where they
are in their lives. “The style of the
house will surprise some, because
Gwen’s similar to Blake,” says the
source. “Perhaps she was trying to
impress friends with her previous
house — now she’s at a different
place in her life.”
A place where even though she
may be exhausted, she’s at least
genuinely happy and at ease. |
Even when
Rossdale has
the boys, “it’s
not like Gwen’s
just lounging
around,”
says a source.
It’ll likely take a few months
before renovations on the
couple’s new 10-bedroom,
11-bathroom mansion in
Encino are finished.
