I first heard about Covenant House in 2013.

I was making my Broadway debut, and the

members of the Broadway community organized

a sleep out, where you spend a night on the street to

raise money and awareness about young people over-

coming homelessness. That night profoundly and permanently changed

my life, and I made a commitment to stay involved. Last year I joined the

board of directors. We’re committed to providing support and

services to homeless youth and we have a presence in 31 cities in

the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Covenant House provides

not just basic needs like clean clothes, safe shelter and a hot meal

but also services like job training, GED programs, legal services,

substance-abuse counseling and medical services. That really

sets young people up with the opportunity to pursue their
