What’s your beauty philosophy?
I’m always about a natural look. Some girls look
amazing with full contour, but as I’ve gotten
older, I’ve realized it’s not right for me.
You’re a clean beauty ambassador for
bareMinerals, which is celebrating
its 25th anniversary. What makes this
moment special for you?
It’s cool to celebrate with them because my intro-
duction to the brand was through my mom, who
always had it in her makeup bag. And if I had a
ballet recital, she’d use it on me. So we’re able to
share those memories with these products.
How have you dealt with changes to your
skin over the past few years?
Two years ago I went on birth control for the
first time. My skin was like, “Ahh, what’s going
on?” I ended up finding out my birth control was
spiking the level in one of my hormones. I was
like, “That’s rude!” But I got it figured out. I think
everybody goes through a journey with their skin.
Do you try to practice
clean habits at home?
We eat very clean at home. We have someone
who cooks for us, because we’re in and out of
the house all the time. My husband [Justin Bie-
ber] was always the one who ate a lot of junk
food, but he found out he’s very allergic
to gluten so had to completely cut it out.
That changed his mood, his skin, every-
thing. I’m not allergic, but I came to the
conclusion that he was kicking my ass in
the health department. I was like, “You
can’t be the master eater and I’m sitting
around eating pizza and pasta!”
Describe your perfect day off.
Usually it’s just getting errands done, com-
ing home and having a movie night. Justin
and I are homebodies. When we first got
married, I liked to always be doing some-
thing. I’ve realized how much of a luxury it
is to just be able to stay in on a Friday night
with a fire going. Now I’ll never go back!
