his documentary fell into a trap

that every football fan knows

only too well: Getting carried

away after one victory.

Following Mansfield Town’s 2-

home win over Scunthorpe United,

the narrator declared that their

glamorous CEO Carolyn Radford was

“proving the doubters wrong”.

Sadly, that match was back in

September last year. Right now,

Mansfield sit just above the

relegation zone in the English

league’s bottom division.

Still, there’s a few months of the

season to go. One or two wins and,

who knows, the Stags could be sitting

pretty just below mid-table. And at

least this film went a long way to

proving her other doubters wrong.

Despite being dismissed by

amateur Mrs Mertons as a gold

digger when she first saw something

in 54-year-old millionaire insurance

tycoon John Radford, Carolyn, 37,

has built a wonderful life with him

and they have three sons.

In fact, they appeared

to be every bit as happy

together as the other

couples featured in this

episode – Big Brother 1

winner Craig Phillips, 48,

and his wife Laura, 33,

and Canadian millionaire

Kelly, 57, and her husband Bill, 34.

That may have been disappointing

for those viewers who only watch

these shows to jeer and judge.

Luckily, Channel 5 threw in a randy

73-year-old British aristocrat to liven

things up a bit.

Childless toff Sir Benjamin Slade

was looking for an heir for

was hoping to woo a

young bride with his

frozen sperm.
