He was also predeceased by his brother John
(Jay) and Kay Hally Ryan.Tomgraduated from
Hobart College in NY where he played football
on the 1954 UndefeatedTeam of Distinction
and was in the ROTC.Upon graduation, he
entered theU.S.AirForce asa2nd Lieutenant
andbeganhislonganddistinguishedcareer
asaFighter Pilot. He flew the F-102 fighter jet
throughout two tours in Vietnam and complet-
ed 328 combat missions.Hethen taught Air
Force ROTC at Manhattan College in the Bronx,
NY and was most proud that some of his
students made the AirForce their careers and
rose to therank of General. Col. Hally finished
his 30 year career in Intelligence with an
assignment as the Defense Attache in Manila,
the Philippines.Hewas awarded many medals
throughout his exemplary career including the
DistinguishedFlyingCross.Thomaswasa4th
Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and
an active member of his church. In retirement
he enjoyed travelling with his family and was
an avid gardener when he wasn’t attending
sporting events to cheer on his grandchildren.
Tomwas loyal, smart, brave,strong and the
loving head of his family.Hewill be truly missed
by many.While his family is saddened by his
passing, our hearts are healing knowing he
has joined hisPatty in Heaven. The family
will receive friends on Thursday,February 27,
2020 from5to7p.m. at Adams-Green Funeral

ington, DC.Hewas an international affairs
analyst, energy official and genealogist, the
author ofanumber of books and various
articles,includingaletter to the editor
revealing in the NewYork Times that FDR
and Winston Churchill were blood cousins,
knew it and shielded this from public knowl-
edge.Born in Doylestown,PAin 1928,
the son of WynneJames Jr.and Virginia
Freeman, Wynne attended school there,
then graduated from St.Paul's School,
Concord, NH and Princeton University,and
receivedaMaster's in International Affairs
from Columbia University.Drafted into the
army at the outbreak of theKoreanWar,
he taught the Russian language to Army
Intelligence students,following which he
served in the CIA and Office of the Assistant
Secretary of Defense for about 10 years
each. He then becameacharter member
of the fledgling energy agency/department
that would become the Department of
Energy,where he became Director of Ener-
gy Importing Nations and deputy head of
NATO's Petroleum Planning Committee,
and served the rest of his 54 years in
theFederal government, retiring in 2004.
The recipient of numerous awards,hewas
also noted for bicycling 18 milesaday,
totaling 150,000 miles,commuting to work
in summer and winter,aspart of his focus
on energy conservation. Married to Greta
Weik of Doylestown, they had three daugh-
ters,SusanJ. Ahalt and NinaJ.Hochevar,
each of Montgomery Village,MD,and Anne
J. Harman of Arlington,VA.Divorced twice,
the second from Katie O'HaraofYorktown,
VA,hemarried Dr.Elizabeth Boyd of Manka-

Alife-long public servant and longtime resident
of Alexandria, Virginia, died peacefully with his
family around himFebruary 14, 2020. Born and
raised in Los Angeles,CA, he graduated from

later receivedamaster’sinpublic administra-
tion from the University of Southern California.
After serving proudly as 2nd Lieutenant in
the US Marine Corps,hebeganacareer in
city management. He worked as Assistant City
Manager of Pomona, CA and as City Manager
of Claremont, CA, as well as Alexandria,VA.
Formore than 10 years he served as Executive
Director for the American Society for Public
Administration and was later nominated as
Fellow of the National Academy of Public
Administration. He also worked for President
George H.W.Bush asapresidential appointee
in theFederal Highway Administration.
He began running at the age of 43, completing
his first of six marathons in his mid-60s.His
passion for environmental conservation led to
more thanadecade of service to The Nature
Conservancy.Hewasalifelong ambassador
of Stanford University,particularly,Stanford
inWashington. With his perpetual drive for
learning andadeep love of history,hebecame
an avid world traveler,travelling to more than
80 countries.
Family was first toKeith, and he was known as
“Bopa” to his grandchildren. He is survived by
his three children: Michèle,Jill, and Scott, their
spouses and his five grandchildren. He was
predeceased by both his first wife of roughly 40
years,Monica Kaufmann and his second wife
of 10 years,Catherine Mitchell.

ruary 8, 2020, surrounded by her loved

She was born Sept. 5, 1934, in Louisville,KY,
the daughter of the lateFrank and Margaret
Wilberding.
Mrs.Sasko graduated from Immaculate
Conception Academy inWashington, DC,
in 1952. She worked for theU.S.Depart-
ment of Justice for five years before leav-
ing toraise their four children. She then
worked for Citizens Bank of Maryland (now
SunTrust) for 30 years,retired and relocated
to Lewes in 1999 with her husband, the late
Robert Sasko.They were members of St.
Jerome’sChurch in Hyattsville for over 40
years,and after moving to Delaware they
became members of Mary Mother of Peace
Church in Oak Orchard. Mrs.Sasko was a
member of the Delaware Chapter of the
Columbiettes,the Red Hat Society Ladies
and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 28.
Mrs.Sasko loved being with her family
as they all came together frequently for
special occasions like birthday and anniver-
sary surprise parties arranged by her chil-
dren. She especially looked forward to the
holidays and their annual family summer
reunion crab feasts at the beach. She
always liked meeting new people and
socializing with the old ones,many of
whom she kept in touch with for over
60 years.She enjoyed working for her
churches,volunteering and working
fundraisers.
In addition to her parents,Mrs.Sasko
was predeceased by her husband of 64
years,Robert L. Sasko; daughter,Kathryn
(Sasko) Connolly; Kathy’shusband, Robert
Connolly; Doris’ sister and brother-in-law,
Patricia and John McDonough, and sister-
in-law,Lynda Mertz.
She is survived by her brother,James (Sally)
Wilberding, her sons,Robert (Debbie)
Sasko,Michael (Margie) Sasko; and daugh-
ter,Theresa (Kevin) Galloway.She is also
survived by her seven grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.

cared for by her husband of nearly 56 years,

born on March 10, 1940, in Indianapolis,
Indiana. She grew up in Nevada and was
an honors graduate ofWasatch Academy,
Occidental College,and The Fletcher School
of Law and Diplomacy atTufts University.
She came toWashington in 1963 to work in
the government where she held positions
in the Commerce Department, Community
Relations Service,and Bureau of the Budget
in the White House.She was active in the
Civil Rights Movement and was particularly
proud of participating in the March on
Washington in August 1963. She was
awardedaCongressionalFellowship in
1968 and worked in House and Senate
offices forayear.
After the arrival of her two children, she
becameafull-time mother and participated
inanumber of civic and philanthropic
organizations including the Writer’sCenter,
the National Cathedral and its schools,
the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Blair House,
and the Lincoln Cottage.She directed
aresettlement program for Vietnamese
refugees and supported education pro-
grams in the Middle East. She also pursued
interests in screenwriting, tennis,photogra-
phy,cooking, music,languages,and travel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived
by her daughter,Susan Zentay (Adrian
McAloon), and her son, Charles Zentay
(Clare Sant), and six grandchildren, Conor,
Eamonn,Jamie,Finn, Emory,and Grace.

OnFebruary 14, 2020, Shannon died in her
sleep afteralong and courageous battle with
cancer at her home inFairfax,VA.She was born
at Columbia Hospital inWashington, DC on
October 23, 1948 to Ralph and Phyllis Bennion
Stohl. The fourth of their children, SheilaTodd,
Anthony Stohl, Jeffrey Stohl (deceased), and
Kristin Rollins.The family moved to Dallas,TX
when she was 12, and she later attended
StephenF.Austin State University.She spent
decades in Dallas pursuing her passion and
profession asahair stylist and continued after
moving to McLean,VAin 2004. She maintained
lifelong connections with treasured nieces,
nephews,and friends.
ACelebration of Life will be held on March 1,

and settling in Maryland. Annie is survived
by her son DwightKennedy; siblings Eugene

was born on September 30, 1970 in St. Louis,
Missouri to Elaine Shea andFrederic Hof.As
the daughter of an army officer,Claudine
traveled extensively in childhood, attending
the American School inTunis,Tunisia 1979-

    Alexandria, Virginia in 1988 and the George-
    town University School ofForeign Service,
    Washington, DC with honors in 1992. Upon
    graduation Claudine was commissionedasec-
    ond lieutenant in theU.S.Army and posted to
    Augsburg, Germany,where she would serve
    with distinction and meet her future husband,
    David JohnWeber.Claudine would leave mil-
    itary service,obtainaMaster’sDegree in
    Architectural History from the University of
    Virginia, and return to Germany to marry David
    in 1997. ClaudineWeber-Hof’sprofessional life
    centered on Spotlight Magazine in Munich,
    where she served as deputy editor-in-chief
    and travel editor.With Claudia Hellmann she
    authored two books: On Location: Cities of
    theWorld in Film (2006); and On Location
    2:Famous Landscapes in Film (2007). She
    wasaworld traveler,animated by boundless
    curiosity andalove of adventure.In2 004
    Claudine’slife would be forever changed by
    the unconditional love ofafeistyJack Russel
    Terrier puppy named Lily.Claudine’spassing
    is mourned deeply not only by her husband,
    parents,siblings,extended family,and friends,
    but by her Spotlight colleagues who admired
    her humanity,humor,and leadership,and by
    countless individuals touched and encouraged
    by her selflessness and generosity.The sup-
    port she and her spouse gave to two Syrian
    families arriving to Germany in 2015 after
    fleeing Syria and crossing Europe largely on
    foot was typical of her compassion and empa-
    thy.Claudineissurvivedbyherhusband;her
    parents; maternal grandmother,Doris O’Con-
    nor Shea-Spivey; her father’sspouse (Brenda);
    brothersFred and Edward Hof; sister Brooke
    O’Gara; numerous cousins and nephews,and
    by colleagues,friends,and admirers fortunate
    enough to have known this remarkable
    woman. Claudine's family will haveaprivate
    remembrance and celebration of her life.
