PRO TIP
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
You’ll need a lens or kit that allows you to create
a minimum 1:1 reproduction ratio when
magnifying the droplets. A macro lens in the region
of 100mm is ideal because it will allow more distance
between the droplets and the lens for light to reach the
subject; however, if you don’t have a dedicated macro
lens a reversing ring or extension tubes (as used
here) will also work. The main pitfalls with the
latter, however, is your proximity to the
subjects and a potential loss
in sharpness.

EXPOSURE As I’m using a black background,thecamera’smetering

shutter speed may be several secondslong– usea remotereleaseand
