Jens Wilkens

holds a Postdoctoral position at the Institute of Turkic and Central Asian

Studies at Göttingen University, Germany. He worked for the project Union

Catalogue of Oriental Manuscripts in Germany (Academy of Sciences,

Göttingen) and at the Turfan Studies research group (Turfanforschung) at

Berlin (Academy of Sciences and Humanities of Berlin-Brandenburg). He is

editing a Buddhist cycle of stories in Old Uyghur entitled Daśakarma-

pathāvadānamālā. The main areas of research interest are the reconstruction

of Buddhist and Manichaean texts from Turfan, Buddhist canonical and narra-

tive literature, history of religions of Central Asia and cultural and linguistic

contacts in pre-modern Central Asia. He is the author of: Alttürkische

Handschriften. Teil 8: Manichäisch-türkische Texte der Berliner Turfansammlung.

Teil 9: Buddhistische Beichttexte. Teil 10: Buddhistische Erzähltexte. Stuttgart:
