Barry Everett and his wife

Margaret understand the

importance of comprehensive

medical travel insurance only

too well, after making two

claims – first in Menorca and

again in Greece.

The couple, in their late sixties, had
been visiting Cala Blanca for 20 years. But
following his double cardiac arrest, Barry
could no longer get travel insurance from
their bank. “I knew very well from a hard
lesson learned by a friend – who was left
with a £68,000 bill– that I would have to
buy comprehensive travel insurance,” says
Barry.
Barry began looking at providers
that would cover his medical history.
He chose AllClear, a specialist medical
travel insurance provider, after a
recommendation from his cardiac
consultant.
FANTASTIC SUPPORT
“On the way back to the airport in
Menorca I started to feel distinctly unwell,”
says Barry. “I was in no fi t state to fl y.”
Barry had experienced a heart fl utter and
needed extensive tests. The couple missed
their fl ight and had to be put up in a hotel:

5 BENEFITS OF ALLCLEAR COVER

“The support my wife received by the
call centre was fantastic. English speaking
people who understood our position
and knew what advice and support was
needed,” Barry explains. “We would have
effectively been stranded had we not been
insured.”
AIR AMBULANCE
His second claim came some years
later, on holiday in Kos: “The emergency
assistance team organised an air
ambulance that fl ew me to Athens where
care was a better standard. During all this
time my wife was also put up in a hotel. It
was an extremely stressful time for both
of us, but I have nothing but praise for
AllClear – I recommend them to everyone.”
“If we had to pay the bill in Greece we
would be tens of thousands of pounds out
of pocket,” he says. “From my eight years’
experience with AllClear, I believe it to be
the most ethical, cost effective, and caring
provider out there.”

were in 2010. Deloitte’s Paul Lee
said: “A decade from now, people
will still continue to seek-out high
production value content, and will

still want to watch this on large
screens, up to 100 inches.
“Every year of this decade, people
will say screens can’t get any larger.
When they reach the size of the
actual wall, that’s when they can’t
get any larger.”
Electronics giant Samsung has
unveiled its 8K 292in telly called
The Wall, going on sale globally in
July at a price yet to be set.
Mr Lee said families will knock
out fireplaces, remove bookshelves
and re-arrange furniture to take
massive screens.
He predicted more than a
third of the larger sets will be
sold at a lower price “as manu-
facturers will offer a cheaper
price for the authorisation to
share people’s viewing habits
with advertisers”. Most homes
today have 50-55in screens.

GOOGLEBOXES are likely to
make the mind boggle in the
next 10 years.
We will upgrade our sets to 100in
screens to create a cinema at home
experience, analysts say.
Deloitte also predicts that by
2030 couch potatoes will be glued
to the telly for four hours a day.
By then it is thought the average
family will be watching 10
on-demand streaming services,
such as Netflix.
Currently 85in screens can
cost about £2,000 but Deloitte
believes even bigger ones will be
cheaper in exchange for TV
makers getting permission to
share customers’ viewing habits
with advertisers.
It thinks by 2030 huge 8K defi-
nition screens will be as
commonplace as 36in screens
