suppliers. But Citizens Advice said services do not necessarily compare all companies in the market, and
those that collect commission from suppliers may only compare the companies that pay them. Citizens
Advice found some are comparing fewer than 15 out of around 70 possible energy suppliers. PA


Supermarket sales of hand sanitiser soar


Sales of hand sanitiser in supermarkets soared by 255 per cent in February, amid mounting worries about
the coronavirus outbreak, according to a report by Kantar Worldpanel. Kantar said sales of other kinds of
liquid soap jumped 7 per cent last month, while household cleaners increased 10 per cent as consumers
looked to protect themselves from the spread of the virus. The report showed that overall supermarket sales
grew 0.7 per cent in the 12 weeks to 23 February – the fastest rate since last November. PA


O2 ‘to cut carbon emissions to net zero by 2025’


Mobile network O2 has announced plans to reduce its carbon emissions to net zero by 2025. The company
said it will work with its supply chain partners to reduce emissions across its entire business and network
over the next five years. O2, which is part of Telefonica, said the plans will involve switching third-party
landlords that support 02’s network over to renewable energy. It will also aim to reduce emissions in its
supply chain by 30 per cent by the 2025 target. PA


Recruiter Robert Walters warns of coronavirus impact


Recruitment giant Robert Walters has warned the coronavirus outbreak is likely to impact on its 2020
profits. The group – which operates worldwide – said the spread of the virus is adding further uncertainty to
an “unpredictable” global recruitment market. Shares fell 8 per cent after the warning was announced and
following the group reporting 2019 pre-tax profits of £47.4m – down 6 per cent on a constant currency
basis. PA
