ntonine Peduzzi and Luisa Orsini recall their first
meeting as a “coup de foudre” – in the non-romantic
sense. The Franco-Italian duo met 16 years ago
at Luisa’s 18th birthday party, held in Rome’s Villa
Medici. “We just got along,” says Luisa. But it was a faded
home-made sign on the Orsini family fridge that read, “Broken!
Don’t touch!” that convinced Antonine, who goes by the name
Tine, that Luisa was truly her soulmate. “We had an almost
identical sign in our family kitchen saying, ‘Don’t touch the
gas! It’s broken!’” she laughs. “I thought, ‘Ah, I’m home.’”
The pair, now 34 and 36, became inseparable, bonding over
an interest in art, design and fashion. Tine began dating Luisa’s
brother. That relationship eventually faltered, but the girls’
friendship endured. “It’s maybe the strongest love, in the end,”
Tine says. “We started to be like sisters. We’re family now.” >
