BODE
Based in New York, Bode
menswear designer Emily
Adams Bode has built a brand
imbued with sustainable
values, storytelling and the
study of personal narratives
at the core of her creations.
With her one-of-a-kind designs
crafted in antique fabrics,
Bode is on a mission to
preserve historical techniques
in textile production.
Female-centric traditions such
as quilting, appliqué and
embroidery are applied to
modern workwear silhouettes.
Garments are rendered in
upcycled materials and
“forgotten textiles” such as
tablecloths, quilts and bed
linens. The first female
designer to show at NYFW
Men’s, Bode is working with
female-run factories in India
and Peru producing fabrics
using historical methods.
Bode’s first ever runway show
took place in Paris for s/s 2020
after launching in 2016.

BLINDNESS
Kyu Yong Shin and Ji Sun Park
are using their brand to
redefine gender norms and
challenge the status quo in
South Korea and beyond. Born
out of a society marked with
strong gender bias and
traditionalism, Blindness has
turned heads and garnered
international acclaim. Its
genderless designs are marked
by opulent details, bold and
deconstructed shapes, frills
and texture, merging wardrobe
classics with the bold and
romantic. For s/s 2019, the
duo relocated their show from
Seoul, where they had been
showing since 2016, to
London, where they were
well received at London
Fashion Week Men’s.
