Travel Book - Guilvinec to Dubrovnik 2023

(Yoanna lpmgvrra-aD) #1

That morning we woke up in the very comfortable students
residence where we stayed for 3 nights. We met Hilliana
Brunsko in the hall. She is the teacher who organized the
project in Dubrovnik. She walked with us to the maritime
university passing through the nautical high school.
We were warmly welcomed by the university’s dean and the high
school teachers and pupils who gave us the albatros, symbol of
our friendship. The bird traveled back home with us and is now
in our English classroom.

Then we went to the olympic swimming pool where a survival
exercise was carried out in the context of our eTwinning
project. Tristan and Alan participated actively by getting in the
pool with the Croatian students. The organization of this event
was quite impressive.

For lunch, we had some tasty pizzas at a nice local restaurant
next to the pool before we met with Miro, our guide for the
afternoon (who’s also a teacher at the nautical high school and
was an extra in Game Of Thrones). We walked through the city
walls and learned that the city had been attacked several times
but also totally destroyed by an earthquake and then rebuilt.
The tour ends with a visit to the maritime museum, in French
this time, with a guide who also teaches at the nautical high
school.
