Although the place has this unique
monolithic structure, the irony is
that the path leading up to the hill. If
one is coming by walking from the
station to the hill, some may find the
path filthy as the area is totally
occupied by slum inhabitants. There
is no proper sanitation and going
through the market area, one may
find it quite stinky. So, from my
perspective, there should be proper
sanitation in that place and along
with that cleanliness should be
maintained throughout the path
leading up to the hill.From Andheri station, it
takes hardly 15-20 minutes
walking distance and if you
want to take a rickshaw, it
will take the same amount of
time as it takes a long route.
If you are planning to visit this
place, the best time to visit is in
the morning and evening. The
temple is closed after 12:30pm
onwards till 4:00pm. So, if you
want to take a Darshan, keep a
note of these timings.
But the good thing is that on the
hill, there is proper maintenance
of that place being done by the
management right from the
temple which is the main
attraction and the siege laid
around it which can eliminate the
risk of any sought of an accident.As the hill is starting to erode, one
can plan this impromptu visit to
Gilbert Hill with your friends or
your near ones before it
