TheHFSP NakasoneAwardisawardedtoscientistsin
recognition ofpioneeringworkthathas movedthefrontier
ofthelifesciences.Thismayencompassconceptual,
experimentalortechnologicalbreakthroughs.Theaward
recognizesthevision offormerPrimeMinisterNakasoneof
Japaninthecreation oftheOrganization.

Thecompetitionis open;itis notlimitedtoHFSPawardees
andthereis noagelimitforcandidates.Inselectingthe
awardee,theCouncilofScientistswillpayparticularattention
torecentbreakthroughsbyyoungerscientists.Theawardee
willreceiveanunrestrictedresearchgrantof 10 , 000 USD,a
commemorativemedalandaninvitationtodelivertheHFSP
NakasoneLectureatthe 2021 HFSPAwardeesMeeting.
