wrapped, is somewhat fluffy, and
is the closest thing to American
sandwich bread. Chileans love
white bread and it may be more
difficult to find wheat or other
multigrain breads.


Desserts


Chileans have a sweet tooth that is only satisfied by very sweet
desserts. Even tea and juice are made with great amounts of
sugar. Desserts at lunchtime generally consist of canned fruit
accompanied by ice cream (called macedonia). If you prefer
fruit without ice cream, just order compote. An interesting
dessert is leche nevada, where meringues are added to a
