FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED


In general, Chile is not a disabled-friendly country, although
progress is being made. In the downtown area and in new
neighbourhoods, sidewalks are wheelchair friendly. Some
subway stations in Santiago have escalators and elevators.
Ramps are rare, but newer buildings will have them as well
as special elevators and toilets for the disabled. For more
