Okie Bonham on April 16, 1960. Herbert
worked as an auto technician in Dodge Dealer-
ships for over 30 years and served in theU.S.
Navy for over nine years earning an honorable
discharge in 1957. After retirement in 1992,
he enjoyed garage projects,woodworking and
volunteering asadriver at local hospitals.
Herbert is survived by sons BarryWade (Deb-
orah) Davis and Alan Herbert (Crystal) Davis;
sister Rita Lloyd; sister-in-law,Shelia Davis;

in professional organizations that are indus-
try related.

outstanding cook and greatly enjoyed the

serve as an Administrative Law Judge at
the Interstate Commerce Commission. In
1980 he transferred to theFederal Energy
Regulatory Commission where he served
asaJudge for 32 years.Judge Nacy retired
on November 30, 2013 and moved to Lees-
burg, Virginia to be closer to family.He
leaves behind daughter Mary Nacy Pi
(Fransesc); son MatthewJ.Nacy (Kari),
son ChristopherJ. Nacy; five grandchildren,
Stephen Nacy,Suzanne Nacy,Megan Saun-

her.She was fair toafault. She rooted for
the underdog.She expressed the perfect
words to uplift someone and make them
smile.She said, “Hi Baby!” to every child she
knew.She collected thousands of recipes
and never cooked one.Her favorite brownie
recipe was permanently attached to the
backside of her driver’slicense; neither of
which she used. She wrote her funeral
arrangements on the backside ofabusi-
ness card. She suffered from “FOMO-Fear
of Missing Out”; this made visits to
Rehoboth Beach (her happy place) exhaust-
ing! She cherished her sunroom at the
farm, where she watched birds,admired
flowers and guarded the holly tree from
being trimmed.Alife-longWashingtonian,
she learned her favorite scriptures while
attending National Cathedral School. Her
tennis game was strong and perfected at
Columbia Country Club.Janet’sdegrees
from Centenary College and American Uni-
versity prepared her to teach 1st grade,
which thrilled her.She LOVED boys that
were “B.A.D.”and delighted in every mis-
chievous story they told. She adored being
amother to Buck/Frank (Frances),Lynne
(Mike) and Blake–her favorite,according
to him (Debbie),agrandmother to Tiffany
McDougal,LyndsayMCannon (James), Ash-
leighMCarlson(Chase), HunterPatterson
(Lori), BryantPatterson,JakePatterson,
ColbyPatterson and eight great-grandchil-
dren–not bad for 87!
GranJansecured several gravesites in
Rehoboth (lovingly referred to as The Pon-
derosa) and will be buried there during a
private,gravesite ceremony.Celebration

MARYMURDOCK WOODFORK
Mary MurdockWoodfork of Columbia, MD,
passed away peacefully on March 10, 2020
from complications of Pneumonia. She was
89 years old.
Mary was born in 1931 inWashington
D.C. She was the daughter of Myrtle
Newman Murdock of Harrisonburg, Vir-
ginia, and Eugene Murdock, of Danville,
Virginia. Mary was educated in the District
of Columbia public schools and was a
graduate of Armstrong High School. She
continued her education at Miami Univer-
sity,Oxford, Ohio,were she received a
Bachelor’sDegree in Psychology.She later
obtainedaMaster’sDegree in Guidance
and Counseling from Bowie State Universi-
ty,Bowie,Maryland.
Mary served the District of Columbia
Schoolsforover 20 yearsasteacherand
later as Guidance Counselor.She was
amember of Locust United Methodist
Church, Columbia, MD for nearly 30 years,
were she served faithfully in many capaci-
ties until she relinquished her duties due
to health concerns.She wasamember of
Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband
of 60 years,Raymond E.Woodfork, also
of Columbia, Maryland. She is survived
by her son, Anthony RaymondWoodfork
(Paulette); her daughter,Lynne Patricia
Matthews (Terry); her sister,Ruth Murdock
Toliver (Lowell); three grandchildren, Charis,
Zoe andJada Matthews; two step-grand-
children, Copa Matthews andTaneesha
Matthews George; andahost of nieces,
nephews,other relatives and friends.
Aviewing will be held on Monday,March,
16 from4to8p.m. at the Howell Funeral
Home,10220 Guilford Road Jessup,MD
