STAIRS With the staircase close to the front door, the homeowners were keen to do something different. “Aaron had seen a full timber version
of our stairs and thought a half-concrete, half-timber design would look great,” says Heather. The warm tones of the blackbutt timber floorboards,
140mm, from Radial Timbers, pick up the earthy colours in the ‘Lodge’ wall cladding from Artisan Stone at the back (and front) of the fireplace.
“We picked that stone because it most resembled the Palm Springs modernist style,” explains Heather of the stairs, which double up as a play centre
for Ami, seven, and Ace, five (pictured). A ‘Barely There’ shade in Natural by Lumiere Shades was selected for its understated elegance.
