STYLE IT: “With simple,
but strong, sculptural
pieces that resonate,
there’s little need to
layer lots of accessories

  • it’s less fussy but still
    warm,” explains founder
    Danielle McEwan of
    Tigmi Trading.

STYLE IT: Look to pieces
with a story to tell or that
invite relaxation: think
slouchy, low-profile linen
sofas, hand-woven rugs
and cosy floor cushions.

STYLE MAKERS
The new take on boho decorating doesn’t have to spell
ikat-everything and, while it holds on to that breezy
essence of bohemia, it offers a little more sophistication.
“The quintessential style we all know and love is in
a phase of gentrification,” explains interior designer
Mel Gubbin of Avenue Twenty Two. “The new look
is pared back, cleaned up and calmed.” Lived-in,
yet luxurious, it has that coveted carefree ambience
without overwhelming a space, relying on subdued
tones more than a cacophony of colour.
