distanceof a 500-strongherdof bualo,andfollowedin thepaddlesploshesof a

NativeAmericanguideas hekayakedpasthoodoorocksculpturesat theedgeof

GlacierNationalPark.I survivedworld-recordbum-acheto cycleroughtrails

betweenthedistantnationsof theancientSilkRoad:Kyrgyzstan,Mongoliaand

Tajikistan– at laststoppingto gawpin wonderat theMilkyWay,framedbythe

peaksof thePamirMountains.AndI divertedto Kazakhstan,sneakingintoa

crumbling,spookyhangarto discovera once-classifiedSoviet-eraremnant:

a cloneof theSpaceShuttle,knownas theBuran.Eachof theseexperienceswas

vicarious,capturedthroughtheeyesof ourcontributorsandsharedas I editedmy

waythroughthepagesof this‘InspiringJourneys’issue.Asthephysicalactof

travel goes on pauseforso manyof us at themoment,I hope your imagination

joins mine in still getting out there.
