Step 15: Once those minor adjust-
ments are made, press Command-J
(PC: Ctrl-J) to copy the selected area
to a new layer. Here we’ve turned off
the Background layer by clicking its
Eye icon in the Layers panel so you
can see the extracted subjects on a
transparent background.

Step 16: As we’re going to be
creating our own custom reflection,
we can delete the existing one.
Using the Rectangular Marquee
tool (M), draw a selection around
just the reflection of the subjects,
and press Delete (PC: Backspace).
Tip: Press-and-hold the Spacebar
while drawing a selection to repo-
sition it. Then press Command-D
(PC: Ctrl-D), or just click outside the
selection to deactivate it.
