Shortcut #8: Press Shift-Tab to hide all of the panels except


the Toolbar and Options Bar (and again to bring them back).


Shortcut #9: Please come back! Have you ever spent a


crazy amount of time making a perfect selection, and then


you accidentally click a key, and your selection just disap-


pears? Whether it’s happened to you or not, here’s a way


you can get it back: press Command-Shift-D (PC: Ctrl-


Shift-D) to restore the last selection.


Shortcut #10: If you’re moving things around, did you


know that there’s a super-easy shortcut to move the


layers up and down in the layer stack? Just press-and-


hold Command (PC: Ctrl) and tap the Left Bracket ([) or


Right Bracket keys ( ]) to move a selected layer down or


up, respectively, in the layer stack. (Note: This shortcut


doesn’t work for the Background layer.)


Shortcut #11: If you wish to select all the layers in
the Layers panel except the Background layer, here’s a
simple but handy shortcut: press Command-Option-A
(PC: Ctrl-Alt-A). n
