ENGLISH TEACHER INTERVIEWS
- BY YEAR 12 STUDENT HEATHER GILLIBRAND
In the past weeks, multiple teachers from the English department have been interviewed on their
experiences in education, by myself; Heather Gillibrand.
Here are Mrs Jones and Mr Male ’ s:
MR MALE
Mr Male was an avid record/vinyl collector as a teenager
and enjoyed gaming and socialising when he was in school,
but continuously searched for more challenging work.
He became a teacher because of his influential English
teacher, and his ambition to reach his potential.
YEAR 9 STUDENTS - BEBRAS UK COMPETITION
On Thursday 16th November, Year 9 students took part in the Bebras UK competition, arranged by the Oxford University.
This was a computer based problem solving competition, which really challenged their cognitive skills.
Well done to all who took part. The next round is in January 2024!

MRS JONES
Mrs Jones said if she wasn ’ t a teacher she would be a cafe
owner specialising in nice cakes and cocktails - called
“ Caketails ”! When asked if she enjoyed school, her answer
was - yes and no. Whilst enjoying being with friends and
learning, the experience was challenging. This affected her
choice in career and made her want to be a positive role
model for students!
