cook up a feast on the barbecue in the
immaculate outside kitchen (bigger than
our indoor kitchen at home) with a table
for 10. You’re set high on a hill above San
Carlos, yet the town is only a 10-minute
stroll away through olive and almond
groves. We loved places like Bar Anita for
tapas and Las Dalias, a weekly (Saturday)
hippy market, selling everything from
handmade jewellery to those cool white
cotton dresses you only seem to be able to
buy on the White Isle. Don’t miss Sunday
lunch at Pikes, it’s the best you’ll ever
taste, plus the vibe there is magical – go
prepared to spend the afternoon, possibly
evening, as DJs play by the pool and when
things hot up it’s hard to tear yourself away.
Swim in the calm, warm sea by café Sunset

It’s hard to know where to start. The
low-lit underground wellness room –
complete with a disco Jacuzzi (lights that
change colour), great sound system and
sauna – was the thing we missed most
after landing back in the UK. The next
USP has to be the infinity pool, which
was enormous and had all the views by
day – hills, villages, sea – but was even
more gorgeous lit up at night, when you
could float and look at the stars.

Have a soak in the blue bathroom at least
once, as it has a skylight above the tub for
cloud-gazing. Also, put all your white wine
and bubbly in the temperature-controlled
wine fridge, laze around on the stunning
Balinese white daybed by the pool and

Ashram, then watch the sun go down with
a chilled beeron the orange cliffs.
One of the best thingswe did was share
the cost of a private yoga session. Booked
through the villa, instructor Rachel Spain
(@spainrachel) arrived one morning
complete with mats and a joyful vibe and
led us through an hour’s lesson by the
pool (from £90 per hour).

Ten of you can have the time of your lives
at this five-bedroom, four-bathroom, open-
plan pad. Split between three luxurious
en-suite doubles and two twin bedrooms,
there’s plenty of space for sprawling out
and, if you want a bit of peace and quiet,
some private balconies to chill on.
The villa can be rented for £8,550 per
week (Cvvillas.com), so that’s £855 each
per week. Grab an Easyjet flight to Ibiza
(Easyjet.com), which start from around £50
return, and that’s a
rock-star trip
for under a
grand. ›
