Symptoms of Anxiety over Your Lifetime

☐ Unreasonable fear of an object (such as animals or
blood) or a situation (such as flying or heights)


☐ Marked fear or anxiety about social situations in
which you might be exposed to scrutiny or
judgment


☐ Unexpected panic during which you are overcome
by sudden intense fear or discomfort for no
apparent reason


☐ Excessive anxiety and worry, for at least six months,
about a number of events or activities


☐ Experiencing or witnessing a life- threatening or
traumatic event involving serious injury or death


☐ Inappropriate thoughts, impulses, or images that
you can’t get out of your mind, such as
preoccupation with germs or sexual impulses


☐ Spending more than one hour a day doing repetitive
and unproductive actions, such as hand- washing,
checking , or counting


☐ Fear and avoidance of places or situations that you
perceive to be dangerous, uncomfortable, or unsafe
and that might cause you to panic and make you
feel trapped, helpless, or embarrassed
