Mumandthekidswillbecelebratingin
ourhomecountry ofPoland.I can’t wait
to finallygetthe chanceto be withher.
I movedto theUKin 2007 toworkand
study. Mynow-husbandMilanandI met
soonafter,fellinlove,andwentonto have
ourthree beautifulchildren.I lovemy life
here, butmissmy mumsomuch.We tryto
gettogetheroncea year,andrecentlythose
timeshavecoordinatedwith thebirthsofmy
children,orChristmas.Flightsforusallare
expensive,sowe havetorelyonvideocalls.
It’slovelyseeingMum’s faceonscreen,but
I feelsadknowingshe’s notable toshare
i l i h iThisMother’sDay feels like the perfect
opportunitytoputthat right. It’s been 13
yearssinceI relocated, and the children are
finallyat an agewhere it’s a bit easier to
travel.I’ve booked a flight for me and the
kidstoPoland,andwe will be there for
Mother’sDay. Mymum’s moved to a new
house,andshe’s excited about hosting us.
We’vedecidednotto set our expectations too
highfortheday itself,and just see what feels
natural.Forme, themost heart-warming
familydaysare thosethat are spontaneous.
If theweather’snicewe might go for a walk,
otherwisewe may bake. It’s something I used
tolove doingwithmy mum as a child.
Mum’sproudof what I’ve achieved,
buildinga newlifeinthe UK, and I’m
gratefulfortheloveand beautiful memories
givenmeof growing up in Poland.
