crepancy between the titles of the English and Russian versions of SAR in respect of the
period to be covered. The Russian edition, of which Lavrov is titular editor-in-chief, is
designated as vol. 1; an editorial note (p. iv) specifies the intent to publish another vol-
ume reaching to 1976, but the English edition does not promise it and it has not materi-
alized. Kissinger’s reports have been included unilaterally in FRUS volumes for the post-
1972 period.
