Meghan ‘desperate
to see her mum’
A
fter moving to Los
Angeles with husband
Harry and their
11-month-old son
Archie to finally begin a new
chapter in their lives, a source
tells new that Meghan Markle
has been left devastated after
being told she’s unable to see
her mum Doria Ragland due to
the coronavirus lockdown.
Meghan, 38, and Prince
Harry, 35, moved from Canada
to set up a new home close to
Hollywood, where most of
Meghan’s friends and family
- including Doria – are based.
But an insider has told new the
couple’s big move is bittersweet
as, like most of the world, they’ve
been forced to self-isolate.
“Meghan jetted to LA amid the
panic over the borders being shut
down, but upon arriving they were
quickly told it was too dangerous
to isolate with Doria, so Meghan
has been separated from her since
their arrival,” revealed the mole.
“Despite being back in her
home city, this isn’t the dream
of returning home she’d imagined.
It’s been a very isolating and
lonely time for Meghan, who was
desperate to get to her mum and
have her be with her grandson,
who she’s missing desperately.”
As well as feeling alone,
Meghan is also said to be gutted
she can’t help her
63-year-old mum
more because of
her celebrity
status.
“Doria
lives alone,
which is
a big
worry for
Meghan,”
our source
said. “Due to
her high profile,
she can’t just nip over
and drop in groceries, so

Her dream move to LA has been thrown into chaos amid the coronavirus outbreak
at being so close but not being
able to be with her.”
Our mole continued, “Meghan’s
praying it doesn’t go on too long
and has been checking in three
to four times a day,
as well as having
staff on hand
to deliver
anything
Doria needs
to her home.
“But it’s
not been
the return
home she’d
planned and it
looks like she
may be apart from
her mum for a few
months at least – meaning
Doria will also miss Archie’s first
birthday next month, which is
a double blow.”
While Meghan’s having a
difficult time, royal expert Duncan
Larcombe tells new that Harry
may also be struggling with life
in Los Angeles.
“Meghan came over to the UK,
she gave up her career, joined
the royal family and two years
later found she was unhappy.
Now it’s Harry’s turn to give up
everything so she can go back to
being an actress and resume her
career,” he said.
“But I can’t imagine that
someone as active and as
passionate as Harry is just going to
sit back and basically do nothing
over the longer term. I think he
might feel like a prisoner within
his own home. I don’t think we’ve
seen the last of Prince Harry as
a working royal.”
As well as coronavirus affecting
their family life, Duncan thinks
the move will put a negative focus
on Harry’s status. “Britain is
eventually going to enter a phase
of hardship and that’s when the
royal family traditionally comes
into its own,” he explained. “The
Firm will get fully engaged to
boost the country’s collective
morale, so how is it going to look
when all the senior members of
the royal family are doing this
while Harry is sitting in his LA villa
by the pool putting out messages
about positivity? It could grate
very badly back in Britain.”
The couple officially quit royal
life last week after announcing
in January they were stepping
down. In a final post on their
joint Instagram account, they
wrote, “As we can all feel, the
world at this moment seems
extraordinarily fragile. Yet we are
confident that every human being
has the potential and opportunity
to make a difference – as seen
now across the globe, in our
families, our communities and
those on the front line – together
we can lift each other up to realise
the fullness of that promise.”
Before signing off as Harry
and Meghan, rather than their
previous Duke and Duchess of
Sussex titles, the couple added,
“While you may not see us here,
the work continues.”
Meanwhile, they have also
been forced to deny they are
seeking government funds in the
US for their security bill after
President Trump tweeted, “...the
U.S. will not pay for their security
protection. They must pay!”
A spokesman for the couple
said, “The Duke and Duchess
have no plans to ask the US
government for security resources.
Privately funded security
arrangements have been made.”
