round, soft and magical. I started
with a large, domed circular form,
and placed it atop a double cylindri-
cal ring to make a big two-fi nger
band or hand ornament. The rest of
the basic form was created as I went
along. For the central focal points,
favorites like round moonstones, and
cut small pearls in half that had the
soft, airy quality I wanted, and to fi ll
in between them, I added the small
diamonds in thick, domed, dotty
platinum bezels. Granules of diff er-
ent sizes were used to accent the
circular borders.”
Also spirited, Pascal Lacroix cap-
tured the stars in the heavens for his
inspiration gazing at the Milky Way
while camping by a lake in the Sierra
Nevada Mountains. His thought was
to blend feminine curves with a
window to infi nity in blue sapphires,
zircons and white diamonds and
18K-gold in his cosmic bracelet.

Multiple trends reports high-
light dot patterns and circles as a
signifi cant trend in jewelry design,
manifested in a variety of styles. The
meaning of the circle is universal,
sacred and divine. It represents the
infi nite nature of energy and inclu-
sivity of the universe. It symbolizes
notions of totality, wholeness, self,
timelessness, and the cycle of life.
During the past three decades,
AJDC themes have ranged from
cube, key, fl ight, and spiral to ice,
stripes, fi re, and explosion. The
group’s design projects are not sold
and constitute a collection that
exhibits at museums and cultural
institutions.
