Use a rotary tool and a steel
brush to lightly clean the
fi ligree and bezel cups. Stop here if
you like the soft shine on the fi ligree.
11
If you want a higher polish, use
a felt wheel charged with rouge
to polish the fi ligree and bezel cup.
Wash the earrings with soap and
warm water and rinse. Repeat the
polishing with a clean felt wheel
that is charged with white diamond.
Wash with warm soapy water, rinse,
and dry.

SET THE CABOCHONS
Place the earrings back in the solder
board holes. Set the cabochons in
the bezel cups.
12
By the time you push at the
12, 6, and then 3 and 9 o’clock
positions on the cabs, you will have
most of the bezel pushed down.
Continue pressing and then use the
burnisher to polish the top edge of
the bezel.
Add the post back and the earrings
are ready to wear!
I noticed powdered solder by
amazing Russian filigree artist
Victoria Lansford on the Rio Grande
website and thought: what a great idea!
I only needed a minute amount, so I used
my file to make a bit for this project.
