Don’t overtwist. You can over-

twist wire, breaking it or destroy-

ing the rope-like character. From

left to right are a large copper cuff

made of 20-gauge double twist and

12-gauge wire; a cuff of 12-gauge

sterling silver and 18-gauge double

twisted copper wire; and a third cuff ,

which is overtwisted. Practice with

copper until you get a feel for the

technique. Your own results may

vary from mine.
