I was given the December issue and,
since then, have bought a copy
every month. I feel with every page
I turn that there is an article
written just for me. I love it! The
March issue cover indicates there is
an article on being more resilient,
which is perfect. I will snuggle in
and have a good read. – Samhealthy messages
Thank you so much Good Health &
Wellbeing for publishing articles
on such a wide range of topics.
I subscribed a few months ago,
having previously abandoned health
magazines for their bias, dogma and
overt commercialism. Wow! What can
I say, other than I am so impressed by
your approach. There are very few
health magazines on the market that
recognise women as individuals with
differing needs – you have definitely
raised the bar! I love how you provide
a wide range of approaches, views
and opinions, rather than the ‘one
size fits all’ standpoint that is so
often taken by the media and health
professionals. Having personally
suffered for years from mental health,
confidence and body image issues,
I especially love how your messages
aim to empower women to accept and
love themselves, and to understand
that each of us has our own journey,
joys, challenges and experiences
through life. Again, I sincerely thank
you! – ShireenThestarletterfeaturedinnextmonth’sissue

It was great to read your
‘Rise to the Challenge’
article about resilience in
your March issue, which
really resonated with me. I always
thought I was made of pretty
tough stuff; surviving a couple
of divorces and the early death of
my dad to cancer among other
things. However, my December
2018 diagnosis of operable breast
cancer put paid to all of that. I
thought I could sail through it
but discovered the whole notion
of “trucking on” didn’t cut it for
me. I fell into a huge emotional
hole because I didn’t stop and
acknowledge the enormity of
what I was dealing with. The
biggest thing I learned with
the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, it
would have served me better
to stop, breathe, acknowledge
and respect what I was going
through. I need to accept the pain
and be in the moment, then put
on my ‘big girl pants’ and get on
with it. – Christine
PS I’m a lucky gal – with a great
prognosis, I dodged a bullet and
feel very blessed!Write in and WIN!
