ew character Chadley,
who you can find in the
Sector 7 Slums, has a
whole series of ongoing
side-quests. He’s an
intern for the Shinra Electric Power
Company’s science division (working
under dodgy experimenter Professor
Hojo, no less), and needs some help
with his research. Okay, in aiding
him you might be helping the enemy
in a roundabout way, but anyone in
need in the Sector 7 Slums also falls
under AVALANCHE’s jurisdiction as
it’s their turf.Once you’ve helped him out with each
report, he’ll be able to develop some
very powerful Materia to sell you.
They’re definitely worth keeping in
mind as you progress, as later on some
of those Materia might make all the
difference in some of the tougher
battles you’re thrown into.
Often he’ll need you to do certain
things in battle for him, so he can use
what you did as research. For example,
using the Assess Materia on enemies
will lead to him unlocking theBATTLE REPORT
Take on battle challenges to unlock better Materia
Auto-Cure Materia for you. Later
reports will ask more from you, like
using magic a set number of times, or
staggering certain enemies. It’s worth
revisiting him and clearing his battle
reports to make sure you have as
