Henderson scored his first goal for Liverpool in his fourth
appearance, at home to Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League
on Saturday 27 August 2011, curling into the far corner – with his
left peg – following fine approach-play by man-of-the-match Luis
Suarez, Downing and Dirk Kuyt.
He tore away to the far Anfield Road corner-flag in delight,
while the following Monday’s Guardian described it as “as good as
anything fashioned by any of the Liverpool sides Dalglish had been
involved in.”

He subsequently found the net against Chelsea that 2011/12
season and played in more fixtures, 48 out of 51, than any other
Liverpool player. Every fan could see he gave everything. And
he won his first medal, the League Cup, following the shootout
victory over Cardiff City at Wembley.

uncertainty as to Henderson’s future at the club. His response
recalled Roy Keane’s epithet: 44 appearances and five goals
over 2012/13 including a crucial winner at Udinese in the Europa
