with spring blooms!
PRETTY POLKA-DOTTED DUO
All it takes to beautify an Easter buffet is a
just-picked display that mimics the look of
daffodils growing in the garden. To do : Give
a dollar-store juice glass and drinking glass a
coat of white or lime-green paint. Let dry fully,
then paint on polka dots using the opposite
color paint; let dry. Fill the glasses halfway
with water, then insert a handful of long grass
and twigs (gathered from the yard) into each.
Snip a few varieties of daffodils to lengths
between 6" and 12" and insert in the cups,
varying heights and colors for added interest.
Display together on your table.
SUNNY EGG-KISSED CIRCLET
A blooming wreath gives your holiday table
surprising seasonal charm. “This center-
piece is unexpected yet so sweet—it’s
guaranteed to get guests talking,” says
Newbery. To do : Bend vine cuttings or thin
branches (like willow or witch hazel) into a
circlet; use small snips of wire to secure.
Next, pop 12 daffodils into a water-filled
glass and place in the center of the circlet.
To finish, nestle dyed eggs into vines.
FRAGRANT MIX
With fresh-picked foliage
and fragrant blooms, this
hand-tied bunch is sure to
wow, says Newbery. “It’s
springtime in a cozy wrap!”
To do : Arrange a handful each
of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and
twigs in a water-filled vase. Wrap
vase with felt; secure with raffia.
