Look closer
Open an individual photo by double-
tapping or pinch-zooming it. Basic
adjustments are shown at the top right,
plus an Edit button to show full tools. Or
open the image by pressing ® to go
straight to the Edit mode.
Live or let lie
Live Photos (from your iPhone or iPad)
and videos autoplay as you browse in
Months or Days. This livens up the app,
but if you’d rather not be distracted,
untick ‘Autoplay Videos and Live Photos’
in Photos > Preferences > General.Remember or forget?
In Memories, ≈-click an item to Add to
Favourite Memories, meaning it appears
in the Favourite Memories tab, or Block
Memory. Depending on available data,
you can block a person, day or place that
you’d rather not be reminded of.®) to start. You can use the left and
right cursor keys to skip forward or
back by one photo.
Show and tell
In the Photos > Months and Days views,
clicking the three dots icon at the top
right of any section gives two options.
Show Map pinpoints where these photos
were taken. Play, available when more
than one photo is included, starts a
Memory Movie of them.
Similarly, when you select an album
under My Albums at the left, the blue
Show as Memory link at the top creates
a Memory Movie from it. The Slideshow
link beside it, on the other hand, makes
an instant slideshow. You can also
ß-select multiple photos in any view
that shows individual photo icons and
choose Play Slideshow.
If you want to make a slideshow to
save, however, select some photos and
go to File > Create > Slideshow > Photos.
This opens a Projects window. Put
photos in order at the bottom; change
the theme, music and duration using
the icons at the right; edit the title by
selecting the first photo and clicking
on the text that appears over it; and
finally click Export to save your
slideshow as a video file.Q Off stream

most recent 1,000 photos that
didn’t take up your iCloud storage

When All Photos is set to full
aspect ratio, you can also show
each photo’s title by pressing
ß+ç+T, and you can edit the
title simply by clicking it (file names
