It’s been five months since Apple
officially launched Catalina – and
it’s certainly been one of the most
transformative and radical macOS
updates to date. 32-bit support went
the way of the Dodo, as did iTunes
- replaced instead with separate
apps named Music, TV and Podcasts.
In all there were over 100 new and
improved features – and they’re just
the ones Apple told us about.
In this month’s lead feature, we’ve come up with 97 more,
although the tips, tricks and secrets we’re including should
help make using Catalina easier, slicker and quicker than
before. You’ll find them all starting on page 20.
Talking of secrets... turn to page 62 and you’ll discover
33 incredible apps that can help you do all kinds of weird and
wonderful things on Mac, iOS, iPadOS and Apple Watch, but
the chances are you won’t have tried them yet – and you
absolutely, definitely, most certainly should.
Finally, we’ve lined up some incredible how-tos for you too.
Starting on page 38, you’ll discover how to get creative with
your favourite images in Photoshop Elements 2020, how to
set up a smart home hub and access it remotely, and even
how to teach Siri to message your cousin’s auntie’s
neighbour’s dog. Probably.
Enjoy the issue!

ultrawide monitor on his

it to lay out MacFormat
pages, he sits and licks
the screen. Strange man.
