Things is one of the most popular productivity apps on the
Mac for a simple reason — it works really well. Now version

and, without doing anything else, call up a search box to
search for the text string you’re typing. Version 3.11 adds

example, start typing “deadline” and you’ll see a list of
tasks with upcoming deadlines. Other new lists include
“repeating”, “tomorrow”, “all projects”, and “logged
projects”. Starting to type any of those will display its name
in the search suggestions list. Choose the list and you’ll see
the tasks that fall into that category. Also new: if you invoke

display the lists you’ve accessed most recently. Those lists
now include project headings.
Other improvements include the ability to see the date
and time a task was created, better Touch Bar support, and
you can now open links in the background by Command-
clicking them. One of the best just got better.
THE BOTTOM LINE. Things isn’t cheap, but it is brilliantly
useful for task management. KENNY HEMPHILL

Corkulous is a virtual corkboard for your Mac
that you can use to collect, organize, and share
ideas. The free version has a ten–item limit;
a subscription is $1.99 a month (Buying a Mac
subscription doesn’t cover iOS and vice–versa.)
It’s based around collections, each of which is
a dedicated board to which you can add sticky
notes, shapes, web links, note cards, emoji,
sketches, and to–do lists. You can also pin PDFs
and contacts, and sticky notes and note cards
enable you to use Markdown to embed links or
code. These items are fully searchable and you
can restrict your search to specific items such as
sticky notes or labels.
If you have a subscription you can also pin
boards to boards, effectively creating a visual
equivalent of nested folders. You can sync with
the iOS app via iCloud, and you can also sync and
share with other users via DropBox or export
boards as board files, text, PDF, or PNG.
It’s a fairly niche app, but useful for those who
prefer to organize ideas or research visually.
THE BOTTOM LINE. A fast, fun and vivid way
to organize your content. CARRIE MARSHALL
