FOODIE FIRST FOR SOUTH AFRICA

If UNESCO are involved, you know it’s good. That’s certainly the

case for Overstrand Hermanus on the Cape Whale Coast, the

    irst South African destination to be awarded the UNESCO stamp

for City of Gastronomy. Joining the likes of Parma, San Antonio,

Phuket and Bergen, the area, which includes the villages of Rooi

Els, Kleinmond, Stamford and Gansbaai, won the title thanks

to the farm stalls, wineries, breweries and restaurants dotted
